Poured from 750 mL bottle into Little Thistle snifter. Double chocolate stout aged in a port barrel.
A: Pours a dark brown hue with one inch bubbly dark mocha head with decent retention.
S: Cherries, smooth dark chocolate, port, and a hint of vanilla.
T: Cherries, smooth dark chocolate, oak, and hints of vanilla, almond, and port.
M: Medium body. Smooth with dark chocolate and cherry sweetness. Drying oak tannins. Wish the body was a bit bigger.
D: Drinks easier than one would expect from an ABV of 11.3%. Really enjoyed the impact the port barrel aging had on this brew.
