375ml bottle, Bottled in early December 2024. Drank 5/18/2024
Look; slightly murky dark brown body. no head at first but a fine short head appeared later that briefly left a little lacing.
Smell; booze, dark fruit.
Taste: This one changed with temperature. I started Ice cold and sipped on the pour till it was at room temp. It was good at any temp. When cold it started out with some plum and prune. As it warmed it became sweeter and raisin and toffee appeared and became stronger till it reached room temp.. Some bourbon mixed in. Not all that boozy at any temp as the nose would have suggested. Almost a 4.5 for taste.
Feel is smooth and slightly thick and malty. Very little burn.
A good beer I will give it a 4.33/5 overall
Aged for 39 months in a Weller Bourbon barrel.

From a 375ml bottle. There's no date on the bottle.
There was a slight pop and smoke upon opening the bottle. The beer is dark colored and there's no light shining through the glass. There's just a faint brown head that dissipated almost instantly.
Aroma is quite boozy smelling. I get a ton of the barrel on the nose. I also get lots of notes of dark fruit in the aroma.
Taste - Ok, the flavor is quite full of barleywine flavors. I get lots of caramel and toffee notes. I get a nice hint of dark fruit. The flavors are quite powerful and a lot more than the nose let on. The thing that is less is the barrel notes. They are there, but just add another layer to the flavor, and doesn't overwhelm the other flavors.
The body is so full and thick feeling. Very smooth. There is just a faint warming that tells you to take your time with it, but it's not harsh.
I was worried about this beer based on the aroma. The flavor dispelled all worries about it. This is damn good.
