I recommend that everyone who loves craft beer and pub food check this place out. It is on the loud side, but the atmosphere is top notch. More than anything else, every employee has the right attitude. Good addition to the fair city Birmingham. Cheers.

This is another place that has been housed in an old warehouse/factory type building and is off the beaten path and not easy to find.....but seems to have a strong local following. It's a large place with super long bar and plenty of seating...indoor and outdoor. The quality of beer and food was decent. The service was friendly and helpful. The selection was somewhat limited I thought.....both beer and food menu. The food was ok....I had the lamb burger that was a little undercooked....French fries were tasty.

This Back Forty location in Birmingham is their second and only opened last month. I fortuitously came across this tasting room when visiting the Sloss Furnaces right across the street. After spending a few hours at Sloss, I walked over to Back Forty. I'm glad I did.
It's located in an industrial area with an active railway next to the building. I saw two Amtrak trains go by and a freight line. Also, across the street are the Sloss Furnaces which adds a nice historic view.
They had a patio with wooden rocking chairs and benches in the front. Once I entered, the place was massive. Lots of tables and available seating. The bar area was rather large too. I ordered a flight of four tasters. They were good beers. Also, I bought fries with ketchup and aioli. The server was very friendly and welcoming.
It's a cool spot to spend time with people over beers and food. I enjoyed my visit a lot!
