Pours an inky black with a finger of khaki foam. Aroma is hearty stout malts, hitting roasty and toasty. It's backed up and decorated with chocolate, spices, whiskey, char, and oak. Some heat starts building up towards the finish, but develops as a smooth swell of heat, well engrained in the shape of the aroma. Flavor profile is roasty, toasty, and caramely malts. Chocolate, spices, and deep barrel, and char add complexity. Some late heat helps the beer taste even bigger, with the heat mellowed out by spices. Mouth feel is thick, viscous, and creamy. Overall, great stout with a firm base, and lovely spice and barrel to elevate it.
