This series of four herbal beers is dedicated to the seasons. Each beer stands for a particular season, so you can drink your way through the year. In spring we foraged dandelions, which lend the beer its flowery aroma and pithy bitterness. This blend matured on average 10 month in red wine barrels.

Pours a cloudy, deep amber coloration with a small, fizzy head. Smells of doughy. biscuity malt and a distinct peach note, as well as some floral, herbal accents, with just a hint of light, cheesy funk and oaky tannins coming through upon swirling. Taste is an excellent balance of doughy, biscuity, almost caramelly malt, some fruity peach and honeydew melon notes, hints of wildflower honey and some floral, herbal accents, as well as just a hint of cheesy funk, tannic oak and peppery spice, with a very pleasant underlying acidity. Finishes with a light/medium acidity and some peach, herbal/floral accents and tannic oak lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and low carbonation.
Kemker really does these Gruit/Saison hybrid beers, as I like to think of them, very well. I'm not sure if I can taste the dandelions here, but there definitely are some floral, herbal accents and also a certain bitterness to this that may well be it. It's a pretty malt-forward, sweet'ish brew, with a distinct, vibrant peach presence, but that sweetness is balanced very nicely by the acidity here. Just like with "Summer" from the same series, this is a bit lacking in carbonation, but doesn't feel quite as flat, while it also feels a bit richer and more complex, with some subtle funk, tannins and oak also making an impression here, although this still has a rather refreshing feel to it. Overall, this makes for a terrific, very well-balanced and refreshing brew with a subtle complexity to it, that could have done with a bit more carbonation though.
