Pours a cloudy, deep amber coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of doughy malt, bog myrtle and estery fruit, with notes of apple and apricot, as well as some tannic wood. Taste is an excellent balance of doughy malt, some bog myrtle, which brings notes of citrus and hints of anise with it, estery fruit, with notes of red apple and apricot, as well as distinct tannic oak, with the merest hint of musty funk coming through as well. Finishes with a light tartness and bitterness, as well as some bog myrtle and tannic oak lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

Another great brew from Kemker, although they are all starting to taste kinda the same to me. Nevertheless this has that really nice balance of estery fruit, foraged herbs, tannic oak and subtle, musty funk to it that is typical of Kemker, with the bog myrtle that they often use in their gruits standing out particularly here, with some citrus zest and that certain hint of anise, as well as a mild bitterness. Overall, this makes for a very enjoyable Wild Gruit Ale that's well-balanced and not without a certain complexity.
