Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a 16oz tulip, black in color with cola brown edging.
Smell - Nice aromatics with a milk chocolate base, while vanilla and touches of floral character fill out the simple but enticing aroma.
Taste - Follows the nose. Mostly chocolate and vanilla playing off each other with a subtle floral note in there somewhere. Chocolate is sweet, but hints of dark bitterness peek through, especially in the finish. Aftertaste is mostly sweet but lightly balanced by that touch of baker's chocolate bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Medium -bodied with fair carbonation. Soft, velvety texture makes this a damn easy drinker.
Overall - I've found most vanilla infused porters kinda bland and boring, but this one stands out. Good job.
