Had on tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up 12oz into a snifter, near black with cola brown edging and a thin, broken layer of suds. Thin ring around the edge of the glass. Good lacing with broken sheeting, webbing and tiny spots.
Smell - Cocount, chocolate and a fair amount of peanut butter.
Taste - Follows the nose. A nice balance of toasted coconut notes, chocolate goodness and an underlying peanut butter base that really shines mid-taste. Finish is a balance of that wonderful trio.
Mouthfeel - Full-bodied with fair carbonation. Silky, near creamy texture makes this a nice drinker with a slightly dry finish.
Overall - Really tasty imperial brown. Peanut butter came through vaguely when this was first tapped, but its coming in beautifully now. Maybe my favorite Burning Barrel release to date.
