Canned 04/24/19
Appearance - Pours black with cola brown edging and a tan, near three-finger width head that extends past the brim of the glass. Fair retention before dying down to a thin, broken layer of surface suds and a fair-sized ring around the edge of the glass. Nothing on the lacing.
Smell - Fudgy with a good amount of maple sweetness backing it up. Picking up only a trace of vanilla.
Taste - Follows the nose. Fair Chocolatey / fudgy notes with a lot of sugary maple sweetness shortly following. Not much else, truth be told.
Mouthfeel - Full-bodied with fair carbonation. Smooth and creamy with a stupid easy finish for 13.5%. Only a touch of stickiness.
Overall - This one I enjoyed on-tap much, much more. The fudgy depth just doesn't seem to be there as it was on that day one pour, which I'da given somewhere in the 4.35 or 4.4. Strange.
