Had on tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up 16oz in an oversized tulip, hazy and faded yellow in color with a thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. Good lacing with webbing decorating a good a good portion of the glass.
Smell - Yeasty aroma. Mild earth and leaf. Faint fruitiness.
Taste - Follows the nose. Yeasty, earthy notes upfront. Twig and leaf. Mild guava. Mid-taste adds some citrus pith and a slight berry twang. Aftertaste lingers with earth, pith and fading fruitiness.
Mouthfeel - On the fuller side of medium-bodied with low-to-moderate carbonation. Fairly chalky texture lends itself to a mostly dry finish.
Overall - I had this when it was tapped on day one, but waited a month for review to see if it'd mature, but it really hasn't changed. Not bad for their first attempt at a kviek yeast no-boil brew, but it could use some tweaking.
