Had on tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in an oversized tulip, crystal clear and pure gold in color with a mostpy barren surface and a fair ring of suds around the edge of the glass. Good amount of lacing, with intricate webbing covering a nice-sized portion of the glass, with spots decorating the fringes.
Smell - Citrusy, floral aroma with a solid caramel undertone.
Taste - Follows the nose. Citrus dominant with lesser floral character. Solid caramel malt depth. Finish has a nice balance between the citrus, floral and soft caramel notes.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a soft, smooth finish. Really nice drinker.
Overall - Hefeweizen base? Its not cloudy, and outside a touch of spice, I'm not picking up any of the other classic clove, bubblegum, banana flavors associated with the style. Good balance though, and quite drinkable.
