Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served 8oz into a snifter, black in color with cola brown edging. Thin, broken layer of suds with a thick ring around the edge of the glass.
Smell - Sweet, chocolatey aroma with lesser roast.
Taste - Follows the nose. Sweet, chocolatey base with a touch of roast toward the finish. Finish and aftertaste follow that pattern.
Mouthfeel - Near full-bodied with fair carbonation. Creamy texture before a smooth, slightly dry finish.
Overall - Not quite as roasty as I was expecting given the description on the board, but definitely not as sickly sweet as some milk stouts can be.
