Had on-tap at Burning Barrel in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up 5 oz into a snifter, near black with cola brown edging and a barren surface. No lacing. None expected.
Smell - Toffee, chocolate and whiskey sweetness and booze with hints of oak and vanilla.
Taste - Flows the nose. Chocolate upfront and then a big wave of toffee hits. Toffee subsides and allows hints of oak, vanilla and some whiskey heat to emerge. Aftertaste lingers with chocolate, lesser toffee and hints of the barrel.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with low carbonation. Slick, smooth drinker with a mostly dry finish. Hard to believe its 12%
Overall - Classic throwback BA impy. It's good, but not quite top tier. Very drinkable.
