Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a snifter, hazy and light orange in color with a thin, broken layer of suds and a decent ring around the edge of the glass. No lacing.
Smell - Banana, hint of clove and some very distant floral character.
Taste - Hints of banana, clove spice and faint caramel. Bit of floral character mid-taste, and the finish is a fading culmination of all those flavors.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Slightly pillowy texture before a bit of dryness in the finish.
Overall - Tastes like a lightly flavored herefweizen more so than a witbier, but with an oddly effective floral quality. Not bad, but it's really making me a crave an actual hefeweizen now.
