'Wake and Cake’ is a Dessert-Inspired Imperial Sour infused with Pineapple, Coconut, Passion Fruit, Vanilla and Marshmallows. This beer is modeled after a layered trifle cake with a tiki-twist. The nose features a tropical and creamy fruit punch while each sip layers your palate with the vast array of each flavor. A slightly sour kick on the finish pairs harmoniously with the velvety consistency that lingers on your tongue. Tropical, decadent and luscious sitting at 9.0% ABV.

From tasting notes 8/29/19
Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Golden orange and crystal clear, mostly barren surface with a thin ring of suds around the edge. No lacing.
Smell - Tartness, pineapple, cream and a fair hint of coconut.
Taste - Getting pineapple and tartness upfront, then whipped cream and hints of coconut. Finish continues mostly with the pineapple and sweet, fluffy whipped cream flavor.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair, tingly carbonation. Slick but also slightly velvety. Easy drinker before a crisp, dry finish.
Overall - Reminds me a bit of their delicious Shaka Vibes, but with pineapple instead of peach and strawberry notes, and less coconut. Pineapple Upsidedown Cake indeed.

Subdued pineapple vanilla nose on this one. Disappointed that the aromatics were muted. Taste follows with pineapple upfront and then the vanilla/marshmallow sweetness. I didn't pick up the coconut at all. Unfortunately, the sour/tartness overpowers the palate on the swallow as warms.
