Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in an oversized tulip, cloudy and salmon in color with a thin, broken layer of surface suds. Lacing consists of some broken webbing and small spotting.
Smell - Strawberry forward aroma but still plenty of hop character there; citrus and pineapple, mostly. Some sweet cream in there, as well.
Taste - Follows the nose. Nice touch of strawberry sets the tone while hoppy notes of lemon, orange, pineapple and faint spice add depth. Cream sweetness emerges as the hops fade. Aftertaste features fading strawberry, cream and slight pithy bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Slick, slightly creamy texture lends itself to an easy, slightly dry finish.
Overall - That strawberry addition was much needed. This beer is great! Makes me wonder how this beer would turn out if they tweaked the recipe to add in some Styrian Cardinal hops instead of or in addition to the strawberry.
