Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in an oversized tulip, crystal clear and brilliant, deep orange in color with a thin, consistent layer of surface suds. Good amount of lace with broken sheeting, lines and some spotting.
Smell - Floral and pine, with orange and a hint of toast and caramel.
Taste - Pine needle and floral character upfront, then some candied orange and caramel sweetness. Finish introduces a fair amount of orange pith bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Slick, smooth, and almost creamy texture before a slightly crisp and dry finish.
Overall - I came into this one thinking I wouldn't be big on it, much like the Dankness Attacks, but my expectations have been far exceeded. One of the better West Coast DIPAs I've had in some time.
