Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in an oversized tulip, black with cola brown edging. Leaves a mostly barren surface with a razor thin ring around the edge of the glass. No lacing.
Smell - Milk chocolate sweetness, mostly. Touch of peanut butter.
Taste - Follows the nose. Really sweet chocolatey notes, like hollow Easter bunny chocolate. Subtle peanut butter riding beneath. Hint of roast. Finish and aftertaste leave a sweet, almost cloying impression.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Lightly creamy texture before a somewhat dry finish.
Overall - Not a bad stab at the peanut butter cup porter, but there a much better examples out there. I'm just finding this too sweet. A little tweak here or there could make this one much better.
