Had on-tap at Burning Barrel in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in an oversized tulip, very light haze and golden orange in color with a mostly barren surface a a fair ring of suds around the edge of the glass. Good lacing with thick webbing, lines and spotting decorating the sides of the glass.
Smell - Citrusy aroma, with notes of grapefruit, orange and pineapple. Subtle caramel undertone.
Taste - Follows the nose. Hops punch the mouth with grapefruit, orange and some pineapple zing, then a bit of caramel sweetness develops mid-taste. Very faint toasty malt comes through in the finish. Aftertaste lingers with a light pithy bitterness going against that balancing malt sweetness.
Mouthfeel - Smooth Sippin' is an appropriate name. Medium-bodied with fair, slightly tingly carbonation. Drinks smooth before a light, mostly clean and refreshing finish.
Overall - Really nice West Coast DIPA with a classic flavor profile and an easy drinking body. This may be a future go-to for as long as it's on tap.
