Appearance - Pours slightly hazy and aquamarine in color with a light, greenish one finger width head that fizzes away quickly to reveal a mostly barren surface and a razor thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. A few tiny spots make up the sparse lacing.
Smell - Hints of pineapple, but also a fair earthy, almost medicinal aroma too. Faint trace of coconut.
Taste - I wanna say I get hints of pineapple and coconut, but if I'm being honest I can't help but pick up a lot aspirin-like character.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Slick, easy drinker before a mostly dry finish.
Overall - I've never had a Blue Hawaiian to say if this is an accurate interpretation, but I can say it's my least favorite of the four Hula Swirl releases. Just something funky about it. Almost medicinal. Maybe it's the butterfly pea flower? Not terrible, just not my cup of tea.
