From tasting notes 12/4/20
Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up 13oz into a short stemmed tulip, hazy and orange in color with a thin, white ring encircling the surface edge. Big time lacing, with thick, layered rings descending down the glass, devolving to lines and spotting where the beer is being sipped from.
Smell - Freshly sliced orange, hints of fresh, green leaf, and a trace of grapefruit.
Taste - Follows the nose. Fresh orange, juice, oil, pith and all, with a splash of grapefruit in the finish. Notes of mango emerge as the brew warms, adding a bit of tropical sweetness. Just a trace of dank in the finish, while fair pith lingers in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Full-bodied, with fair carbonation. Slick, easy drinker before a lightly dry finish.
Overall - Straight citrus bomb. A prominent array of all the flavors an orange can bring, along with some other notes to round it out. I'm not normally a single hop kind of guy, but the way they brewed this, man. It's probably the best single hop brew I've had to date.
