From tasting notes 9/4/20
Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up 10.5 ounces into a tulip, near black in color with cola brown edging where light can penetrate. A tan, thin layer of suds covering the surface.
Smell - Strong chocolatey aroma with notes of vanilla, mallow and a hint of boozy heat.
Taste - Follows the nose. Deep, deep chocolatey base throughout the entire experience. Vanilla and marshmallow breaks up the chocolate abundance mid-taste, and follow through to the finish. Just a trace of booze on the end here.
Mouthfeel - Full-bodied with low-to-fair carbonation. Very sticky in texture, with somehow avoiding much of the usual syrupy feel that accompanies such. Dry, warming finish.
Overall - This is a dessert stout without any doubt. Stupid rich. Tasty, but this 10.5oz pour was more than enough.
