Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a large tulip, fair clarity and orange amber in color with a mostly barren surface and a thin ring around the edge of the glass.
Smell - Notes of pine, citrus, lightly toasted malt and caramel sweetness.
Taste - Follows the nose. Pine upfront, but quickly met by the caramel malt base. Mid-taste brings a touch of grapefruit and floral qualities, while hints of mango and biscuit can be found toward the finish. Nice balance in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Smooth, lightly silky texture makes this an easy drinker before a semi-dry finish.
Overall - Anything with that dank pine quality is gonna clash with my palate, but at the end of the day, this is an easy drinking, nicely balanced WC IPA.
