Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a large tulip, black with glimpses of deep, ruby brown where light can penetrate. Thin, broken velvety layer of suds across the surface. Nice lacing, with fairly consistent webbing and small spotting decorating the glass.
Smell - Notes of fair roasted malt, light cream and a trace of chocolate.
Taste - Follows the nose. Fair roastiness, ket with hints of cream and roast. Simple, and quick to the finish.
Mouthfeel - Smooth, velvety texture. Creamy. Easy finish.
Overall - Solid Irish dry stout, though nothing that really makes it stand apart from your typical Irish dry. As with all beers on nitro, a bit of flavor is sacrificed in exchange for that velvety smoothness.
