Appearance - Pours with a slight haze and golden yellow in color with a white, near two-finger width head that displays fair retention before dying to a thin, broken layer of suds with a consistent ring on the outer edge. Okay lacing, with thin, broken webbing, lines and small spotting.
Smell - Interesting nose of overripe orange, grapefruit rind, mango, guava and a bit of melon.
Taste - Follows the nose. Notes of mature orange, white grapefruit, guava and lesser mango. Big wave of melon starts small mid-taste, then crests in the finish. Faint, underlying crackerish malt body. Aftertaste lingers with the aforementioned fruitiness, plus a touch of dank and black pepper spice.
Mouthfeel - Near full-bodied with fair carbonation. Drinks smooth for 9.5%, with a semi-dry finish.
Overall - Really nice, tasty DIPA. Has all the elements you'd want in a big boy West Coaster.
