Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up 8 oz into a clear, plastic solo type pint cup, cola brown in color with a mostly barren surface. No lacing.
Smell - The aroma is heavy on fresh shaven coconut with lesser milk chocolate. Hints of macadamia.
Taste - Lots of coconut upfront and throughout, with lesser macadamia nut. Chocolatey base, but lacks depth. Finishes sweet, but just outside cloyingly so.
Mouthfeel - Near full in body with fair carbonation. Drinks smooth and slightly creamy before finishing with a bit of harsh dryness.
Overall - Two things: it's really heavy on the coconut, and it's missing a deep, grounded base to off-set all the sweetness found here. Certainly could use some balance, but not a bad drinker at an 8oz pour.
