From tasting notes 6/3/22
Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Breeing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a snifter, near black with cola brown edging. Mostly barren surface with a tazor thin ring of suds found along the edge of the glass. No lacing.
Smell - Booze, molasses, coffee, cream and a bit of nuttiness.
Taste - Follows the nose. A base of sugary molasses sweetness from start to finish, while notes of coffee, fudge, chocolate milk, coconut and some earthen nuttiness play above that sugary base. Finish is nigh cloying in sweetness, and crosses that line if not shipped slowly.
Mouthfeel - Full in body with low-to-moderate carbonation. Thick, creamy body before a drying, sticky finish left on the lips.
Overall - Good brew, but way too sweet for my tastes. This 5oz pour is about my limit, if not less. I won't be ordering again.
