Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a stemless tulip, opaque and turquoise in color. No suds. No lacing, but plenty of fruit sediment cover the entirety of the inside.
Smell - Sweet, fruity aroma with alight tartness. Lemon, peach and a touch of berry.
Taste - Starts off with a mildly tart, lemony brightness, followed quickly with raspberry zing and lesser strawberry sweetness. Peach rides beneath, then emerges a bit more in the finish and hangs well in the aftertaste, along with raspberry, while the strawberry and lemon take a backseat.
Mouthfeel - Thick and viscous, with low carbonation. Smooth drinker, though somewhat pulpy with all the puree suspended in the drink.
Overall - It's good, no doubt, but I feel more like I'm drinking a Bolthouse Farms juice blend more so than I am drinking a fruited kettle sour. At what point is it too much fruit puree?
