Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a stemless tulip, opaque and the color of carrot juice. A thin, broken line of suds found around the edge of the glass, while the sides are covered in a pulpy film.
Smell - Juice aroma. Strong orange, pineapple and papaya with a hint of mango.
Taste - Follows the nose. Prominent juice flavor, quite literally like a Dole tropical juice blend out of a container. Prominent orange and pineapple, while lesser papaya and a kiss of mango round out the flavor profile. Not much else, if anything.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with low carbonation. Somewhat creamy texture with low-to-medium pulp. Somewhat dry finish.
Overall - So hard to rate these recent Double Jammer drops, because they so heavy handed with the fruit puree that there's no discernible beer flavor to be found, i.e. it tastes like fruit juice, not a kettle sour.
