big thanks to my friend for sharing a couple cans from these guys, my first few from burning barrel, have heard good things! this is a pretty modern sour, clean but assertive on the acid, rather heavily fruited, cool flavor combination with the cherry and the lime, it benefits from not having lactose and marshmallows and all that junk in it, yet its still modern. its refreshing and drinkable because its not heavy and gunky feeling, and its on the dry side for the style, especially these days, so it hits on a number of levels for me. red tone to it, fizzy but not holding much head after a minute, big bubbles coming up, pretty good color saturation, a little haziness. the nose is all fruit, both tart cherry and cherry candy, and zested lime, more cherry than lime but the synergy is undeniable. very little from grain or hops, but its obvious the souring is tidy and professional. the flavor is real similar, more cherry than lime but the approximation of limeade is legitimate. its not that sweet which is nice, its robust but not overdone on the flavoring in that it swallows pretty clean, and i like the little lemony kick from the souring, no funk, just acid, bright and tangy and lip smacking. some wheaty type body to this but no real grain flavor, its a touch fuller for a second in the middle with the sediment in here beefing it up, but its still easy and its lighter at the end. nice fruited sour here, more drinkable than many, cool flavor combination, better carbonation that it looks like it has, enjoyable introduction to this brewery.
