From tasting notes 2/3/23
Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a snifter, near black with cola brown edging. Near barren surface with a thick ring encircling the edge. Minimal lacing, with a few scattered spots found on the sides of the glass.
Smell - Sugary chocolate aroma, like chocolate frosting, with some underlying coffee roast.
Taste - Follows the nose. Sugary chocolate notes that clash somewhat with the underlying coffee roast. Aftertaste lingers with continuing sugary chocolate sweetness.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Has a silky smoothness before a lightly dry finish.
Overall - Its okay. A bit too sugary for my taste, and the roast doesn't quite mesh with that chocolate flavor as much as I would have liked Solid brew but could probably be tweaked to improve the balance.
