Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a snifter, mostly opaque and violet in color, with broken islands of suds across the surface, and a fair sized ring clinging to the edge of the glass. Decent lacing, mostly broken lines and small spotting.
Smell - Slightly tart blueberry, maple syrup and a light batter aroma. Hint of cream.
Taste - Follows the nose. Starts with slightly tart and sweet blueberry, maple syrup and cake batter flavor. Mild cream rides beneath. Sweetness lingers in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Full in body with fair carbonation. Slightly syrupy texture that sits heavy on the tongue, leaving a semi-dry, lightly sticky impression.
Overall - Delivers on what was promised, but a brew that drinks rich, which makes it a bit tiring after half a pint.
