Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a snifter, black in color with cola brown edging. Thin, broken layer of surface suds. Lacing is fair, with some lines and small spotting.
Smell - Chocolate and vanilla aroma with a light roast undertone.
Taste - Vanilla upfront and throughout. Mid-taste brings a mild coffee roast with a hint of dark chocolate. Semi-bitter finish though with the continuing roast and dark chocolate bitterness, though vanilla stills holds.
Mouthfeel - Full in body with low carbonation. Smooth, creamy texture before a lightly dry and slightly chalky finish.
Overall - They wanted to make a vanilla latte inspired stout, and I'd say mission accomplished.
