Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a snifter, cloudy and salmon in color with a barren surface. No lacing, but a film of fruit sediment dirties the sides of the glass.
Smell - Inviting, intriguing aroma of prickly pear and papaya, with lesser lime and some salty character.
Taste - Follows the nose. The prickly pear really shines, while papaya adds sweetness and lime adds an element of tartness. Nice touch of salinity as it nears the finish. Balanced blend of the sweetness, tartness and salinity. Bright. Just delicious.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Fine pulp texture from the fruit sediment. Drinks easy before a lightly dry finish.
Overall - A unique and tasty fruited sour. Drinks easy and well balanced overall. One of the more standout sours I've had in recent memory.
