From tasting notes 3/10/22
Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a snifter, opaque and a muddy pink color with an orange-ish hue. Salmon. Thin, broken layer of suds on the surface with a razor thin ring encircling the edge against the glass.
Smell - Strawberry and white chocolate dominate the nose. Lesser cake batter and vanilla like sweetness sit beneath.
Taste - Prominent tart and sweet strawberry upfront and throughout, with the cake batter, marshmallow and white chocolate formulating to give it a strawberry shortcake like delivery by the finish. Nice blend of the tart and sweet notes. Kiss of citrusy hop bitterness in the back end. Finish is strawberry, cake and a milky vanilla fading equally.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Slick, smooth drinker before a slightly dry finish.
Overall - Really nice double jammer release. Very much in the mold of a strawberry shortcake in liquid form. Sweet, but balanced enough to keep it from getting cloying.
