Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a snifter, opaque and berry violet in color with a thin, broken ring of suds on the outer edge. No lacing.
Smell - Blackberry and lesser lime. Faint floral quality.
Taste - Follows the nose. Fair blackberry and a kiss of lime adds fruity tartness without making this a sour bomb, perhaps in part to the prickly pear calming things while adding a note of floral character. Balanced finish.
Mouthfeel - Light in body with fair carbonation. Slick, easy drinker before a lightly dry finish.
Overall - Really nice balance found in this guy. It won't wow you with over the top flavors, but with its inviting ease. I dig it.
