This was available only in bottle the day I was at the brewery, but they would crack open a bottle and pour you a large tulip if you wanted one (which I did).
The beer pours a blackish brown color with light lacing and fair head retention. The beer has the look of a beer that has seen some barrel aging (which I guess it has). On the nose I'm picking up considerable rum, with some underlying vanilla, dark chocolate and some burnt toast. The flavor profile replicates the nose in this moderately sweet beer, though it's a bit thin on the palate (much to my surprise). Even so, it's a bit boozy I thought, which seems to be fairly typical of FDBC beers. It's still pretty tasty though, and at least in this beer, the alcohol doesn't really interfere with the flavor profile.
While this isn't a mind blowing beer,it's still pretty tasty. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who doesn't like rum, but otherwise it's a fun, enjoyable ba porter.
This is apparently from 2021, and is still holding up pretty well at this point.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
