“London calling…” So started the daily war informational announcements from the British Broadcasting Corporation. These communiqués were a vital part of the war effort to keep up the morale of the British people, the British and Allied forces, as well as to give the resistance movements throughout occupied Europe information to counter the German propaganda machine. London Calling has been brewed specifically to mimic the classic traditional London pub ale that was the staple drink of the ordinary Londoner who would regularly meet at the local pub to talk about the latest stories of tragedies and successes. The London pub and local communities during these years represented the community therapy sessions that enabled you to “Keep calm and carry on”.
Tasting Notes: Standard English pub ales are pale, straw colored and feature a hint of malty bread. Refreshing citrusy hop notes in aroma and taste. Dry finish. Light bittering aftertaste.

Cask conditioned at The Allies Pub in Chico, the brewery’s own pub. Dark golden body, small creamy white head. Aroma lightly caramelised hay and bread, light fruitiness. Taste pretty balanced, zesty spicy and faintly lemony hop zing. This is a nice, light, balanced and easy-drinking but tasty English pale ale.
