2021 bottle poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a quarter finger khaki head that dissipates to a thin film with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, whiskey, cocoa and dark stone fruit; a bit boozy. Flavor follows with dark toasted malt, whisky, milk chocolate, dates and dried plums; a bit hot. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. A very nicely aged whiskey stout with a pleasant milk stout base with good malt depth and interesting dark fruit notes, probably mostly from the whiskey. It's now 3 years old and bought off a shelf (not cooler), so it has aged/held up very nicely, but still hasn't lost it's whiskey edge and heat, but the flavor depth supports it fine. Haven't had my whiskey barrel stout fix in a while, and this one hit on all cylinders. Nice introduction to this Colorado brewery.

Very smooth and creamy but it's probably my least favorite so far but still very good and quality, It's just not as exciting to me I guess. The flavor is kinda subdued but the feel is definitely creamier
