Poured from a 500 ml bottles, the body is yellow-brown with a big white head. Very good lacing. Nice looking beer in a snifter.
Aroma has a pleasant mix of light smoke, caramel and cherries.
Taste features a mix of fruit tones and a malty caramel. Wisps of cherry and apple pair well with a light bitterness. Not much alcohol in taste but just enough to warm. The sweet caramel approaches cloying, but doesn't quite get there. A wee bit of smoke in the background.
Mouthfeel is medium with a soft finish and good carbonation.
Overall an interesting experiment that features three styles (Helles, Rauchbier and doppelbock). Not sure what the goal was aside from an interesting tasting beer. To that end, the beer is good but not outstanding.

Pours a caramel color with a tan head. Great lacing! Nice nose, think hoarhound candy or molasses. Taste is a burnt caramel but with a slight metallic pungency. The metallic taste was not too strong or off putting and it faded pretty quickly. Not much backend flavors.

Clear, medium copper color pour; thick, frothy head, white and lingering; speckles the glass with gossamer lattices of foam. Alluring notes of rhubarb, cherry, strawberry; spicy apple pie. The taste brings thoughts of doppelbock primarily; fruity esters and phenol bitterness abounds. Medium-heavy body; lightly sticky residual sugars cling to the palate; somewhat flat.
The bottle 'popped' upon opening, indicating strong carbonation, but with no overflow. And the intriguing journey began from there. Any beer that pegs itself as an experimental beer - a blend of helles, rauchbier, and doppelbock - has promise for good or ill. The looks are fantastic and the smell immensely unique and appealing. The taste is an interesting meld of doppelbock with a vague sense of a helles lager; no real smoked beer flavor comes through. The bottle states the beer "ages gracefully up to 1 year", so this is likely past its prime. Still, an interesting beer.
ABV: 8.3%; pouring temperature: 46.7°F; bottling info: 2021
