Dark caramel in color with a THICK tan head. Nose is sweet, and pungent, maybe burnt caramel. Taste is also caramel with a nice bitterness afterwards. ABV is not very evident.

Pours a clear, medium gold hue, appears dark honey in the glass; dense, slow-rising carbonation; immensely dense and rocky head, creamy and sticky. Rich, sweet, toasted caramel nose. Classic barleywine taste; robust caramel and toasted grain notes; heavy sweetness; fine and subtle underlying element of bitterness and booziness. Heavy body; thick residual sugars stick to the palate; very pleasant alcohol warmth.
Popping the bottle cap resulted in a low-key foam overflow. Once the rescue glass gathered up the rest of the beer, my palate and senses were treated to a fine barleywine experience. The beer hits and usually exceeds all the profile points for this type of beer. Simply fabulous!
