Solar Eclipse is a brand Wayne Burns has been making professionally for over twenty years.
Spectral Swan Of Wrath Solar Eclipse is a 3x Barrel-Aged Russian Imperial Stout that took two years to create. Aged in Stainless Steel, then Laws Four-Grain Bourbon barrels, then Stranahan's Single Malt Whiskey barrels, and finally in Heaven Hill (Elijah Craig) barrels.
Low carbonation to ensure a creamier and deeply blended flavor profile.

Deep, dark, and clear brown pour, appears opaque black in the glass; dense, tan head, semi-creamy texture, one-finger thick. Heady nose of rich chocolate, cocoa powder, robust and earthy spiciness. Incredible flavors of milk chocolate, rye spiciness, and whiskey; suggestions of licorice and anise. Heavy mouthfeel, dense and spongy; generous overall boozy warmth.
Holy moly! This is one fantastic beer. If I would have known about the beauty of this dark beast, I would have scored a number of other bottles, but, alas! The brewery is gone. Gone but not forgotten. The balance and complexity are truly amazing, definitely a heavy hitter, but with finesse and singularity of presence.
ABV: 21%; pouring temperature: 61.3 °F; bottling info: 2022
