Clear, dark brown pour, beer appears opaque and black in the glass; thin, creamy, khaki colored head that fades and becomes patchy over time. A kind of spciy, minty, chocolatey aroma; sweet. The taste plays up on the smell; rich, dark chocolate; mint in the background; a taste of boozy bitterness. Smooth and silky mouthfeel; heavy body yet also feels a tad weak for the style.

I like this beer. While seemingly a bit under-powered in some regards, the taste ultimately makes this a winning beer. It certainly is a pleasure to experience an imperial stout that isn't riddled with adjuncts and crazy barrel aging. As the beer warms, it really gets its legs and ultimately winds up being better than the sum of its parts.
