Rum and bourbon barrel Russian imperial stout
Barrel-aged in a bourbon, then rum barrel. Stern Russian imperial stout classic flavors, espresso, dark chocolate, cocoa, nut, leather. The rum barrel is soft, adding a fruity note.

Review taken from handwritten notes dated May 23rd, 2025
Dark, opaque, decent head for the ABV; khaki colored head, thin & lasting; rings and fingers of foam inside the glass. Smell comprised of chocolate, cocoa, figs, wood. The taste build on the smell + cherry, dates, tobacco juice; boozy. Heavy mouthfeel; velvety raspiness on the palate; bold alcohol warmth.
"Just" another stupendous big beer from Burns Family (R.I.P.)
ABV: 20.4%; pouring temperature: n/a; pour size: 4 oz
Source: on tap at the brewery / taproom (Denver) (2nd to last week of business)
