real neat can of beer here, neat to see this format from these guys, the conditioning is impressive. this is a pils base, a simple lager dry hopped with citra, and then refermented in the can with brett, a neat funk to this, super light and summery still, the citra is spot on in here, doesnt seem one dimensional as it sometimes can in a single hop context because the brett here is fruity too and to its more well rounded, and overall i was quite impressed with this. unfiltered looking, glowing pale yellow under an airy white head an inch high. the brett is young but its obvious, the lager yeast is rustic and shows through as well in the nose, and the hops hit on sweet lemon and lime leaf, some light noble spiciness too keeps it a little more traditional for a second, and this is lush and juicy but dry and easy, really appealing. there is very little bitterness here even though the hop climax is late in the flavor, meyer lemon and lemongrass both, a light dill even cilantro note, but it works, the brett is farmy and green a little bit, hay and straw and lawn to it, but its drying at the same time, and with the lager yeast makes this crisp in an interesting way, like crisp and juicy and mouthwatering at the same time, and there is no tartness here at all. there is freshness and also maturity to this, radiant carbonation, enough pils malt coming through for this to seem almost european, and ultimately a real drinkable and distrincive beer at the same time. i have loved brett lagers in the past and i love this one too! wish more good brewers would play around in this space...
