Moderate head that settles to a substantial cap. Very persistent and lays down significant lace. Clear dark coppery red. A very handsome brew. A clean nose with appetizing hops and noticeable grain. Just enough sweet malt lurking in the background. A touch of raisins. Well balanced. Hoppy and bitter to taste, but really quite enjoyably so as a DIPA. Many of this style just lay down a merciless hop mugging. This is assertive but not stupidly aggressive. Sturdy long lingering bitterness. Moderate sweetness, followed up by some dryness, grapefruit pith. Overall interesting and evenhanded. Suited to hop lovers. Clean drinking, well made. High ABV, but not noticeably boozy. For sippin', not chuggin'.
