I visited Rail Hop'n while out and about in Auburn last weekend. On tap, they had 12 beers and 3 hard seltzers. Their taplist included a couple pepper beers (one jalapeƱo, one habanero), and from what I understand, they may have 3 pepper beers soon. Beyond that, they had several IPAs (including both mango and raspberry IPAs), a blonde, a sweet stout, an amber, and a fresh hop red ale. I had a flight of six tasters and, while some of the beers were okay, nothing really floated my boat. The habanero mango IPA was interesting, though.

They've got a very homey garage-meets-grampas-rec-room vibe, with a lot of wood and corrugated steel, a couple dart boards, and some picnic tables inside. The atmosphere was really welcoming, I felt, and the brewhouse is right there next to the taproom, a look I always like. The owner/brewer was tending bar on my visit and was a really cool guy to talk to; he's clearly passionate about the beer and the business.

So, overall, I'm not crazy about the beer, but I like everything else about the place.
