Pours an amber to orange color with a big, bubbly white head.

Smells of fresh cut peaches, lemon zest, cakey malts and a good amount of orange pulp. Manages to establish a hop forward nose, which gets gently enhanced by the prominent malt backbone, creating a piney diversity.

Has a soft mouthfeel with a tangy finish, not distracting from the beer‘s smoothness at all, which packs a medium body with a long lasting, dry ending.

Tastes of dried herbs, dry lemon zest, sweet toffee malts and luscious oranges. Has a bitter middle part, with more lemons and balancing dough malts, maintaining their toffee edge. Finishes even dryer, with more fruits adding to the lemon, balanced by resinous toffee malts and a light note of honey.

Tasty, strong headed with a well rounded hop flavor among a prominent malt base. Pretty old school west coast iipa, very well done, but not too close to the original pliny actually.

Pours a slightly cloudy, deep amber coloration with a medium, frothy head. Smells of caramel malt and citrus hops, with notes of grapefruit and tangerine, as well as strong pine. Taste is an excellent balance of caramel malt and bitter, resinous hops, with fruity citrus and lighter topical notes of grapefruit, tangerine and pineapple, as well strong pine and herbal accents. Finishes with a medium/strong bitterness and some grapefruit and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

This makes for a great, classic West Coast and the fact that its name rhymes with Pliny the Elder is no coincidence. While I lack the comparison, this is definitely one of the best German WCIPAs I've had, with a nice, moderate caramel malt backone, great bitterness and very distinct resinous pine notes, as well as lighter citrus and tropical accents, with a great balance of sweet caramel malt and bitter, resinous hops.
