A big thank you to Snowcrash000 for this bottle straight from Germany!

A - Very hazy medium orange with thick

S - Yeasty with light citrus and a hint of "rotten eggs".

T - Yeast, some citrus, bread crust, and a lingering citrus light acidity and bitterness. Lingering citrus on the palate.

M - Pretty chewy for the style.

O - Stoked to try this beer!

Pours a clouded amber color, with a bigger, stable white head.

Smells of hay, corn, dried leaves and a faint floral quality, gently enhancing the beer‘s rustic character.

Has a light body among a medium carbonation, which manages to built up a sparkly, effervescent finish, making this very refreshing.

Offers a surprisingly prominent dryness from the very beginning, which gets entangled into white bread dough, hay and calming garden herbs. Offers more dough and flour then, with its dryness continuing to cut through. Finishes very refreshing with slightly sweeter, almost funky, rustic straw setting the tone beautifully, gently empowered by the lasting, hoppy dryness.

Very pleasant, well balanced with a great hop profile to it, defining the taste throughout.

Pours a slightly cloudy, deep, dark golden coloration with a huge, foamy, lasting head. Smells of grainy, bready malt with certain herbal/spicy and floral notes as well. Taste is dominated by doughy and foremost grainy malt with strong notes of herbal grassiness, light spice and a certain floral note as well. Finishes with a light bitterness and some herbal/floral notes lingering in the aftertaste. Medium body with lively carbonation.

This is a Wieß, an earlier, unfiltered form of Kölsch. While I would prefer this over most commercial Kölsch beers, it still is what it is. Still surprisingly flavourful for a Kölsch, with strong, grainy, herbal notes and a light floral note that seems a little out of place.
