Pours a cloudy, crimson coloration with a large, fluffy head. Smell is dominated by a soft, but distinct rhubarb note, as well as some subtle biscuity malt and citrus accents. Taste follows the nose, with an excellent balance of light biscuity malt, a soft but distinct, slightly tart rhubarb presence and light accents of citrus and spice, with notes of orange peel and coriander, as well as the merest hint of lactose. Finishes semi-dry, with a mix of sweetness and tartness and some rhubarb lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This is a somewhat unique Witbier that packs an amazing body and mouthfeel for the ABV, which is undoubtely due to the use of lactose here, which is thankfully rather subtle in the flavor profile though, with this displaying a fantastic harmony of soft malt, sweet and tart rhubarb and light citrus and spice accents, as well as a superb balance of sweetness and tartness, with a great, refreshing semi-dry character. This is a very enjoyable beer full stop, but for the very low ABV of 2.5% it is downright amazing, making for the perfect, refreshing and flavorful summer thirst quencher.
